A mesmer PvX build
So there's a soon to be deleted mesmer PvE build on PvX, it's hammered with negative ratings and from the looks of it most of them haven't tried it or bothered to help the build. It seems that's a common occurrence at that site.
The build is:

Anyone have thoughts on it? People use paragons and Soul Twisting defensive ritualists. This might not be great, but maybe with adjusting or the upcoming mesmer skill changes...

Not the worst build ive seen but it is far from the best. Are you looking to make it a team defense/ support build or something else? I dont see why maelstrom is in the build and question the earth skills used.

Maelstrom is for interruption and this isn't my build, I just figured it was worth fixing or discussing at least.
Looks terrible...in what way?

Its redundant because of skills like SY, that are more consistent, better defense.

It's bad cuz Aegis, Enfeebling Blood, Shadow of Fear, and herta all do what that build does, but better and without wasting an elite.

Yeah, not really. Imbagons aren't used as much anymore, simply because physicals can carry more damage and still maintain SY. A paragon hero trying to be defensive is just bad. Soul twisting is seeing some use, but there's really no reason to bring one when you can bring an ER. That being said, you don't need sy or an ER to steamroll 95% of the game in HM.

That's all is a lot more valid and useful than anything said about it before. Do you have any suggestions to make it better?

Whats the build even for? PvE? PvP?
I dont like how its got max illusion just for one skill... seems super redundant when there are plenty of other usefull illusions magic skills.

I would go with SoI so you wouldnt have to spread points out but that would screw over maelstrom a bit. The big turn off for me is the skill recharge on most of the skills used but i can see where it can shutdown some mobs. Maybe we will get some more decent skills to use soon but for now i dont see how to improve it without changing the intent of the build.

Shared burden isn't that bad of a skill in hm, but I'm not liking the rest of your build. I'd go me/n and take enfeebling blood, which takes the place of ward and eruption, and Cry of pain+cry of frustration in place of your maelstorm chain. That leave you with 2 more pve skills and 4 skill slots.

Wait 2 weeks. They're about to buff Mesmers and I'd bet money that SB gets a buff.
Half the Mesmer primary builds on PvX are going to change when the update comes out (trust me on that).
